The US women’s hockey team rolls on at the 2022 Olympics.
The Americans crushed Switzerland, 8-0, in the third game of the preliminary round, moving to 3-0 with their final preliminary game against Canada coming on Monday night.

The US scored five goals in the first period, including four in the final six minutes, to get out to a commanding lead. Hilary Knight started things off with a power-play goal at 5:40. Then, Jesse Compher started off a flurry of goals at 14:04. Knight scored her second just nine seconds later. Kelly Pannek and Amanda Kessel both added goals before the end of the period.

Pannek and Compher both scored a second time before the game had finished.

The win temporarily puts the US atop Group A, with Canada yet to play its third game. In all likelihood, Monday’s match will be the decider for the group, which also features Finland and the Russian Olympic Committee.
