Man City boss Pep Guardiola all but confirms Erling Haaland transfer – 'I'd love to talk'

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola virtually confirmed that a transfer for Erling Haaland is on the brink of completion, but stayed quiet under orders from Borussia Dortmund. The Norwegian striker is set to formalise his move to the Etihad this week after completing a medical on Monday.

City are on the verge of locking down one of Europe’s most fearsome frontman, and an announcement is expected imminently as the formalities of the deal are thrashed out. Guardiola will have known that the questions were coming when he faced the media on Tuesday, but he admitted that he was bound by strict orders from the two clubs.

“Everyody knows the situation,” he admitted. “But I should not talk because I do not like to talk about the future. Dortmund and City told me I’m not allowed to say anything until the deal is completely done. I’d love to talk but I can’t.”
