England underwhelmed against the USA on Friday night, with some supporters being vocal about their disgruntlement when the full-time whistle sounded. Shaw, though, feels that many are not appreciating that it was a solid point against a tough side.
He continued:“For people on the outside of our circle, drawing with the United States is going to look like the end of the world.
“But at the Euros, we drew our second game – and look what happened from there. We know what we need to do. We wanted to beat the US. Unfortunately, we couldn’t do that, but we kept a clean sheet and it’s an important point. We weren’t at our best.
“But if you look at the tournament and look at teams who have had games like this, you have to look at it as a positive point. It’s all in our hands. We need to keep positive and look at the next game.”
