He’s hoping to make some scratch.

The Texas lawyer who went viral after a Zoom filter left him looking like a cat during a virtual court hearing is hoping to cash in on his online cat-astrophe.

Rod Ponton told TMZ that he was initially left feeling “embarrassed” by the court mishap that left him assuring the judge in the case he was working, “I’m here live. I’m not a cat.”

“By the time I realized that the thing had gone viral and it was already everywhere in the world, I got over it,” he told the outlet, saying that “you can’t put toothpaste back in the tube.”

Now he wants to score some catnip out of his viral infamy, with plans for his own merchandise as well as paid gigs advising others on avoiding similar mishaps, he told TMZ.

“They’re already selling T-shirts, mugs and everything else, so we’re gonna try and catch up with that,” he told the outlet.

While booking speaking engagements in tips for online “professionalism,” Ponton admitted his own case gives him paws for thought — as he has “no clue how or why” the Zoom filter suddenly appeared.

Luckily, the judge in the case saw it just as a “fun moment.”

“Everyone involved handled it with dignity, and the filtered lawyer showed incredible grace,” Judge Roy Ferguson told Reuters.
