LBC’s Eddie Marr was hosting a phone-in to discuss the performance of Sir Keir as the Leader of the Opposition. Nick, a passionate Conservative supporter, did not hold back in his assessment of Labour Party leader, stating that Sir Keir is an amazing gift for the Tories.

Mr Marr asked: “As a Conservative are you quaking in your boots at Keir Starmer?”

Nick replied: “Absolutely not.”

The caller continued: “Honestly you may have well had a phone-in about traffic bollards or something.

“We are vaguely aware of them, we have no idea what they are for and we don’t really care.

“As for the opinion polls, am I quaking in my boots? I always thought Jeremy Corbyn was an amazing gift to the Conservatives.

“But Keir Starmer is like birthdays and Christmas coming all in one go.”

The performance of the Labour Party has also been strongly criticised by the Scottish Conservative Party.

Tony Miklinski, a Scottish Tory councillor told Express.co.uk that the Labour Party will never be in power in the UK again without resurrecting their power base in Scotland.

“Labour is in a desperate position, Labour will never be in power again in the UK if they cannot get back their power base in Scotland.

He added: “I think they are scratching around under Keir Starmer, I don’t think he has really thought through the implications of what he is trying to do with Scotland.”

“I expect Labour to suffer more so than they did at the last election.

“They really are a spent force, I see it on a daily basis, they are split.”
