George Russell feels Mercedes took 'two steps back' after disappointing Bahrain qualifying

Date:

George Russell has admitted that Mercedes are still far from comfortable with their car after a disappointing qualifying session in Bahrain on Saturday.

“I feel like we’re going one step forward and two steps back,” Russell told Sky Sports. “We’re making progress and then suddenly we’re back into the same issues.

“It’s difficult because we’re so focused on solving the over-arching issue of the car which is difficult to nail down all the details and fine tune the things.

“This is what it’s about at the moment. We want to be fighting for victories and we need to try everything we can to get there.”
